Editing our footage
We have now started to edit the footage that we took on the shooting day. We have put the footage that we want to use in the rush bin to keep it safe and saved it in there. We have started to put it all together but because there is so much to look at, it takes a long time. I feel that we have started of editing with a positive energy and it shouldn’t take too long to finish of the editing.
Shooting Our Thriller
On Thursday 17th January my group and I shot our Thriller opening sequence.
The day before our shoot we sorted out all the props and made sure that we had everything that we needed. So i went and bought a pack of cards and some soup, and liv, toby and Chessie went and got the envelope and pill pot. It was very important that we did this so that everything was organised and ready for the shoot the next day.
The morning of the shoot I woke up and I was excited and feeling confident that the day was going to go well. Everything was ready to go and I didn’t have any worries or queries about the day ahead. We were ready.
When we arrived at the first place we were going to shoot all we had to do was set up the camera and get the props ready and organised. We were shooting In a Gastro pub called The William Bray in a small village called Shere in Surrey, so where we were shooting was perfect for the restaurant scene which was the first one we were shooting. I think we dressed the restaurant well to make it look busy.
On the shoot I was a continuity girl and also did some filming. I think that it was good that we all shared roles and mixed them around so everyone had the chance to do everything. I really enjoyed being the filmer and working with the camera and i found it really interesting.
The part of the shoot that I think was most successful and that I enjoyed the most, was the dropping off of the poison at Peaslake House. I think it was really expressive acting and It was very realistic and I like the shots that we got of the car. There wasn’t really a part of the shoot that I would improve. I think that it all went well and we didn’t really have any problems! Or group was very organised.
In the edit the bit that I am most looking forward too seeing is all the action that we shot with music layered on top of it. I think it was really improve it all and make it more mysterious and build the tension.
I feel that my group and I worked really well. We didn’t have any problems and it all flowed well on the day. Now we are starting to edit and we are all really excited to see the finished product.
The lesson that I think that we have learnt as a group is that on the day of the shooting we can come of from sticking exactly to the story board and we can change it a bit and then re-create it afterwards. Overall it was a really exciting day and good shoot.

Shop Problem Solved!
Originally we were going to film inside a shop in Shere and it was going
to be part of one of our changeovers. We never thought of the problems that we
might experience, while using the shop when we were discussing process of using
it. If we had decided to use the shop we would of had to of written a letter
asking permission to film. We haven’t had much time to do this and we were also
worried that they may not reply in time. As we would have needed to use the
till and possibly a packet of cigarettes it would have made it very complicated
for us.
So because of these problems we have changed it so we don't need to use the shop anymore. It
made more sense for us to stop of at our teachers house - Adam's - because it
is in between Hurtwood (our school) and The William Bray. We also no longer
need to use a cigarette packet and we are now using salt crystals in a pill
container because it is more obvious to what it is (the poison.)

Filming Locations for Shere Vice
The first location we are going to use for the filming is a
house. We have decided that we are going to use a girl in our groups house who
lives about ten minutes from our main filming site in Shere, Surrey. This will
be a lot easier than using a shop because we have easy access to it and we dont
have to ask permission. We're going to use Mariella’s home to film the scene
where the postman (or just a man who posts something in a letter box) passes
the poison in a letter through the flap of the door and the unknown man receives
the letter and the journey begins to the restaurant. We have spoken to the girls
dad who has agreed to let film at her house, it was very important that we did
this as it would be terrible to get there on the day and be told that we can't
film.
The Second of our locations we need when we're filming is a busy
street. We have had a think about this, as this could be quite hard to film. We
have also got to choose a busy time to go because if we go when there is no one
there it will be pointless. The Passover taking place on this street is the one
between the biker man and the young thug. Here the thug will be walking down
the busy street and the biker will knock into him accidently and the Passover
will subtly take place but we are still not certain where we will film this
scene, or where we can film this scene. We could film it at school or we could
take a trip to Guildford to a shopping street where we could film it however
this may take up too much time if we go to Guildford. We think that Guildford
would be the best place for this as it's got the right street and we can use
back roads to get the bike down it.
The third of our locations is The William Bray, in Shere. This
is a Gastro pub that is owned by the father of one of our group members. This
is where we have decided to film the main poisoning, which will be filmed in
the kitchen and in the restaurant, so this will be our main site of filming. We
will also use the outside of the William Bray to film the cafe scene which will
save us a considerable amount of time as we won't have to find another location
to film it elsewhere and disrupt another business with our filming. We have
spoken to the owner of the pub and got his permission to film at the pub
however we must speak to him again soon to establish times to film, as we want
it to be the most convenient time for him.

Organising actors for the Thriller
We have just got back after our christmas holidays and we made a list of things to accomplish because the filming of our thriller is just around the corner. One of the points on our list was to organise who is going to be in our filming and to let them know about it.
This is a screen shot of the email that my group sent out to the people that we would like to act in our thriller.
